Performance Anxiety: Are We Alone? by Daniel Lin
This session endeavors to examine professionals in a variety of occupations who, despite having to deal with stressful situations regularly, must deliver peak performances. What can we, as performing musicians and teachers, learn from them?
Taiwanese-Canadian pianist Daniel Lin currently serves as Associate Professor of Music at Indiana Wesleyan University. Previously, he was a visiting faculty member at the University of Evansville.
Dr. Lin’s performances have been featured in a variety of venues in Canada, USA, Holland, Italy, Spain, and Germany. He was a finalist in several international competitions, including the 2006 Pacific International Competition, as well as the 2008 Chinese International Piano Competition. He appeared as a soloist with the Marion Philharmonic Orchestra and, most recently, with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra as one of the winners of the PianoTexas International Academy and Festival Concerto Competition. He has presented lectures and workshops throughout the Midwest.
Dr. Lin holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Literature from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington.
