Master Class Applications
FSTMA 2025 Conference Piano Master Class
Featuring Students from Jacksonville MTA, District 4
The Master Class with Marvin Blickenstaff, world renown pianist and music educator, will be held on Saturday, October 25th.
Eligibility:
Piano Teachers from the Jacksonville MTA are invited to enter their students to be considered for performance on the Piano Master Class on Saturday, October 25. 2:00-3:30 pm in the Lighthouse Room. In addition, a Jacksonville MTA member may enter a student outside District 4.

Entry levels and repertoire requirements:
Each audition is by video and needs to be 10 minutes in length, maximum, and may consist of one or two pieces.
Applicant age categories are determined by the contestant’s age as of September 1 in the year of the conference.
For each level, students may play up to two pieces/movements of a solo or concerto. All solo repertoire must be performed by memory. Winners are required to perform the same repertoire theysubmitted in the competition. Adjudicators have the right to select more than one performer from an age category, or to refrain from choosing a performer from a given age category.
Application process
Applications should include a photo, a bio (not to exceed 150 words), and a web link to a video recording. The deadline to submit applications is June 15, 2025. Results will be announced by July 30, 2025.
The videos will be judged by two highly qualified musicians who do not have their own students participating. No comments will be provided to applicants. The selection committee is charged solely with selecting the performers, not providing feedback.

- Videos must be of high quality. Click here for tips about recording your videos.
- Either upload your video file directly in your application or include a link to your video file in a cloud-based platform like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive.
- Videos must contain the repertoire listed on the original application.
- No editing is allowed. Each selection must be labeled with the title and composer. For individual movements of a larger work, label with the title, roman numeral of movement and composer.
- Check videos for sound quality prior to uploading.
