is committed to being involved in Legislative Activities concerning Arts
Education in the State of Florida. Our State Chairman is

Summer Music Institute Residency Applications
FSMTA is a
Statewide-Partner of the Florida Alliance for Arts Education. FAAE is
presently showing all of the FSMTA Competition winners on their website. They would also like for us to be aware of the residency listed below.
If you have promising
students ages 15-20 years of age (as of June 29, 2009), applications are
now available for the annual Kennedy Center/National Symphony
Orchestra Summer Music Institute on the Florida Alliance for Arts
Education (FAAE) Website at

The sought-after,
residency program will take place June 29 – July 27, 2009 in Washington
D.C., and is open, by recorded audition, to students who are seriously
considering orchestral music as a career and willing to devote
themselves to a musical education. Applicants must play one of the
following instruments: violin, viola, cello, string bass, flute, oboe,
clarinet, bassoon, French horn,
trumpet, trombone, tuba, or harp. For

the Kennedy Center Alliance Arts Education Network. The deadline for
submittal to FAAE is December 15, 2008.
