Vivia Chengshi, MTNA Senior Piano winner is a senior in the International Baccalaureate program at Eastside High School in Gainesville. She began studying piano at the age of four and violin at the age of ten. Her teachers include Wanda Louie, Dr. Gary Wolf and Carol Cohen. Vivia has been a member of the Alachua County Youth Orchestra since 2004, and as winner of the David Hubbell Concerto Competition, she was the featured soloist with the ACYO in 2005. Vivia has won many local and state piano competitions, including the Ruth B. Lockmiller Memorial Award from the Florida Federation of Music Clubs. In 2007 she was a finalist in the Central Florida Symphony Young Artists Competition. Vivia also loves to sing and is planning to continue her passion for music in college.
