2011 MTNA Competitive Events Winners
 

 

  Julia Hossain

 



Junior String Winner

Julia Hossain, age 13, is a 7th grade student at Berkeley Preparatory school in Tampa. Her serious violin studies began with Mrs. Julia Ruby at the age of 6 and she currently studies with Mrs. Annabelle Gardiner and Dr. Ayako Yonetani. Julia was the state winner of FSMTA concerto competition in Junior Strings Division in 2009. She also received Honorable mention at the MTNA Southern Division competition in Junior Strings in 2009. In the past three years, she has received numerous awards in FFMC Junior State Competition for violin and piano. She won the Junior Class IA violin concerto in 2007, Junior Class IB violin concerto in 2008, Junior Class II violin concerto and Medium class III violin solo in 2009. Julia was the concertmaster for Patel Conservatory Junior Philharmonic Orchestra in 2010/2011 season. She is currently a member of Symphony Orchestra and Harp Quartet of Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestra. Julia also studies piano with Mrs. Olga Glick. Besides her music accomplishments, she excels in academics and enjoys various sports.
