Hyae-jin Hwang, MTNA Young Artist Piano Alternate winner is a native of South Korea is currently a music major studying piano performance at the Bower School of Music at Florida Gulf University in Fort Myers where she studies with Dr. Michael Baron, Head of Piano Studies. 

She has been successful in many competitions including First Place Winner in the Colorado Association of Christian Schools and National Winner in the American Association of Christian Schools.  Additional prizes include several competitions in South Korea including the Sin-il College Competition, Dae-sin University Competition, as well as the Grand Junction (CO) Symphony Orchestra Competition, the Four Corners Competition, and the Beethoven Sonata Competition in the United States. She recently won $2,500 in the Sarasota Young Artist Competition and was chosen as the MTNA Byrd Memorial winner for the state of Florida.
