String Young Artist Winner
Ashley Hagadorn
is currently a junior at the Florida State University College of Music
studying Music Education. She plans on attaining a Performance
Certificate in viola under the tutelage of Dr. Pamela Ryan. Ashley comes
from a broad musical background in both violin and viola including
performances at the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall as a member of the
Florida Youth Orchestra, as well as numerous performances with the
Aurora String Quartet which performed around the tri-county area in
South Florida. She was a featured soloist of the City of Hollywood’s
75th Anniversary, and has performed twice with the Chieftains at the
Broward Performing Arts Center. Ashley began the study of violin with
Don Hicks at the age of 7 and continued under Thomas Moore of the New
World School of Music in Miami, Fl and switched to viola her senior year
of high school. She is currently collaborative partners with Andrew
Focks, a 2009-2010 MTNA Young Artist National Finalist in piano. Having
joined the Florida Youth Orchestra at age 9, Ashley has a deep passion
for orchestral music and conducting and is currently the librarian of
the Tallahassee Youth Symphony under the direction of Dr. Alex Jimenez.
